Every cat parent deserves access to the very best five-star cat-only hotel accommodations for their felines. No matter how much money they make. And no matter where they live.
That’s why Club Cat is expanding our luxury, cat-only hotel locations through our new franchise company, Club Cat Franchising.
Since we officially announced our plans to expand in early August, we’ve been getting a lot of interest and inquiries. Below are a few answers to some of the frequently asked questions we’ve received.
Why is Club Cat epanding through franchising?
Club Cat decided that the best way to expand Club Cat was to provide franchise opportunities to humans who are zany for cats and are business minded. Club Cat’s founder & Chief Cat Officer, Shana Martin, had not originally planned to expand via a franchise model. Rather, she had planned to expand through owning and operating. As a former professional corporate marketer, she knew how important it was to preserve the integrity of the beloved, trusted brand she built. Would that be possible in a franchise model?
Eventually, she came to see it is. Especially after seeing over the last 4 1/2 years how much demand there is for this type of cat hotel. It is not uncommon for Club Cat customers to drive 2-3 hours to drop off their kitties at Club Cat. Shana finally realized that the best way to serve customers across the state and beyond was to offer franchise opportunities to helicat parents (Shana’s term for helicopter cat parents), who desperately want to make a difference in the lives of other cat parents and their kitties.
This franchise opportunity will give other business-minded, cat lovers the opportunity to bring profound meaning to their professional lives by owning their own five-star cat hotel without having to do it from scratch (pun intended). This structure will allow future Club Cat owners to leverage Club Cat Irvine’s winning model and build and operate their very own Club Cat Hotel & Resort for Felines.
This is a long-term relationship. Like a marriage. Identifying the right people who understand Club Cat’s unique mission and values and have the drive to be part of that vision sets the foundation for future growth. These extraordinary inaugural franchisees will be the cornerstone and future of Club Cat all at once.
What does a Club Cat franchisee look like?
A picture is worth a thousand words.
What is the Club Cat Franchising process?
Shana is a firm believer in pacing oneself. As a three-time marathon runner, she knows first-hand the importance of pacing yourself for a long-term outcome.
The process to identify and partner with the right Club Cat franchisees is a marathon, not a sprint. And it’s multi-pronged.
The first step in the process of identifying whether or not Club Cat is a fit for you and you are a fit for Club Cat is completing a brief questionnaire. Those whose goals and background seem aligned with Club Cat’s values and mission will then be invited to an introductory call. From there, next steps include more detailed discussions surrounding everything from branding and industry trends to operations and finances.
What does it cost to become a Club Cat Franchisee?
Understandably, this is probably the first question that comes to mind for prospective franchisees.
The answer is that there is a range based on a variety of factors, not least of which is geography. Costs will vary from state to state, city to city. Finding the right property to lease called site selection is another variable. Then there are other variable costs such as design costs, supplier costs, license fees, insurance, payroll, etc. You get the idea.
